Account Deletion

Effective May 11, 2026

You have the right to request deletion of your Knoyo account and associated personal data. This page explains how to make a deletion request, what happens after you do, and the limited categories of information we are required to retain. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1. Delete Your Account In-App

The way to delete your account is from inside the Knoyo app:

  1. Sign in to the Knoyo app.
  2. Open the Profile tab.
  3. Tap Request account deletion.
  4. Confirm in the dialog that appears. Your request is recorded immediately; the row in Profile updates to show a pending state.

We will email you when the deletion has been completed. You do not need to reply to that email.

2. If You Cannot Access the App

If you are unable to sign in to the app — for example, you no longer have access to the email or phone number associated with your account — email team@knoyo.health with the subject line “Account Deletion Request” from the email address registered to your account. We will verify your identity and submit the request on your behalf.

3. What We Delete

Once your identity has been verified, we will delete or irreversibly anonymize the personal data associated with your account, including:

  • your account credentials and authentication identifiers;
  • audio recordings, transcripts, notes, and other content you have submitted through the Service;
  • preferences, settings, and uploaded documents; and
  • usage and device information linked to your account, to the extent it is not required to be retained under Section 5.

4. Clinical Trial Data Is Not Deleted

If you have previously consented to participate in a clinical trial or research study through the Service, data collected under that consent will not be deleted as part of your account deletion request. Clinical trial and research data is processed under a separate legal basis (your informed consent and the protocol governing the study), and applicable laws and ethical guidelines require that we retain that data for the purposes, and for the duration, described in the consent form you signed. This is true even after your Knoyo account is deleted.

Where feasible, clinical trial and research data is held separately from your Knoyo account and, after account deletion, is retained in a form that is not linked to your account credentials. If you wish to withdraw from a clinical trial or research study, you must do so by following the withdrawal procedure described in the consent form for that study, or by contacting the study team directly. Withdrawing from a study does not automatically delete your Knoyo account, and deleting your Knoyo account does not by itself constitute withdrawal from a study.

5. Data We May Retain

Even after account deletion, we may retain limited information where we are permitted or required to do so, including:

  • copies held in routine backups, which are overwritten on a rolling basis (typically within 30 days);
  • records of deletion requests and related correspondence, to demonstrate compliance with applicable law;
  • transaction and tax records that we are required to keep;
  • audit logs and security records necessary to operate and protect the Service; and
  • aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
